Westlife
Westlife, an Irish pop band, was formed on July 3, 1998. I am very fond of Westlife band. It is a band that focuses on ballads from adult contemporary music to teen pop. Their songs have gained them a worldwide recognition. Those who listen to their songs rate them no.1. Westlife’s song have become major international hits. It is a four member group who have done amazing work in the past decade. The group’s primary lineup included Brian McFadden, Shane Filan, Mark Feehily, Kian Egan and Nicky Byrne. Byrne has close links to politics as he was the son-in-law of former Irish Prime Minister Bertie Ahern.
This group has come out as the most palmy pop groups in the United Kingdom of all time. This group took the whole world by storm with hits including Flying Without Wings and Swear It Again. Westlife has won many awards for their beautiful melodies. In 1998, it won awards such as- Best Band of the Year, Best Love Song (Swear it Again), and many more at ‘Top Of The Pops Award’. In 1999, it won rewards- Record Of the Year (My Love), Best International Band, Pop Stars of the Year, Best Album (Coast to Coast), etc. Westlife won countless rewards in subsequent years.
This new age group has released many hit songs during their career. Some of which are- ‘Mandy’, ‘You Raise Me Up’, ‘World Of Our Own’, ‘Queen Of My Heart’, ‘Against All Odds’, ‘Flying Without Wings’, ‘Swear It Again’, etc. This pop band has also outstrip some top records, including the “Biggest selling arena act in the UK” and the “Musicians with most consecutive number 1′s in the UK”. This group has worked with some of the renowned names of the music industry such as: – Mariah Carey, Donny Osmond, Kenny Rogers, Lionel Richie, Donna Summer, Delta Goodrem and many more. The song (Swear It Again) reached the top 20 in the US and also went straight to the top of the UK charts.
